Here at Eon Visual Media, we are massive fans of running! With this, many of our staff like to spend their free time putting on their trainers and taking part in a wide variety of different running events across the globe! Furthermore, we have been proud to sponsor the Hull Marathon for 6 years and have helped to provide video coverage and digital marketing content for the event! With this, for Global Running Day we wanted to showcase some of the amazing running events some of our staff have signed up to later this year and highlight some of the incredible fundraising we will be carrying out in the process.
Burton Constable Trail 10km
The first race on our running calendar is the Burton Constable Trail 10km, which will be taking place on the 25th of June.
This race is located in the spectacular grounds of Burton Constable Hall in East Yorkshire and will allow participants to run through the picturesque surroundings of the estate across a variety of different outdoor terrains. For this event, James Cherry and Pete English will be representing Team Eon, and aiming to set their trail running personal bests! The team are also very excited for the post-race activities and celebrations.
Sheffield Half Marathon
As well as attending the Burton Constable Trail 10k, Pete will also be representing Team Eon when he participates in the Jane Tomlinson Run for All Half Marathon event later this year in Sheffield.
The Sheffield Half Marathon is South Yorkshire’s biggest running event and will see Pete running through the city centre and the Peak District. Just like Kate Bush, we’re sure that Pete will be running up that hill!
London Marathon
Later this year, our Director Matt Dass will be taking on two huge running challenges; 2 Marathons, in 2 Weeks for 2 Charities. To kick things off, Matt will be participating in the London Marathon on the 3rd of October!
This iconic race will see Matt running through some of London’s iconic landmarks including the Shard, Tower Bridge, Canary Wharf, The Houses of Parliament and Buckingham Palace!
This event will also be very important for Matt as he is currently raising money for Crohn’s & Colitis UK. This charity is incredibly significant for Matt, as his mother recently had to have lifesaving surgery to remove her colon after suffering from crohn’s and colitis for many years. Thankfully, the operation was a success and Matt’s Mum survived. However, this operation has changed her life as she continues to adapt both physically and mentally to her new body. With this, Matt will be running the London Marathon to raise awareness and much needed funds for Crohn’s & Colitis UK.

Trail Pursuit: Brecon Beacons
After recently setting his personal best in the Lake District, our Marketing Executive Pete will also be travelling down to Wales to take part in the Trail Pursuit Brecon Beacons half marathon event.
This outdoor trail running event takes place in the beautiful region of the Brecon Beacons National Park and will allow Pete to trek his way up mountain terrains and through the beautiful Wales wilderness.
Tokyo Marathon
As well as smashing the London Marathon, Matt Dass will also be jetting off to Tokyo 2 weeks later to participate in the Tokyo Marathon! This annual race takes place in the capital of Japan and is commonly known as one of the six World Marathon Majors and will be Matt’s sixth after successfully completing New York (2017), Chicago (2018), Boston (2019) and Berlin (2019).
The race will see Matt travel through some of Tokyo’s iconic landmarks including the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, Iidabashi, Nihonbashi, Asakusa, Koto, Nihonbashi, Ginza, Shinagawa, Hibiya Park and Tokyo Station.
For this event, Matt will also be raising money for P.A.U.L for Brain Recovery. This UK charity aims to make life easier or those who have suffered from brain related injuries and provides guidance and support to empower all affected by ABI. With this, Matt will be running to raise awareness and funds for this incredible charity.
