Earlier this year, we announced on Global Running Day that some of our staff at Eon Visual Media would be participating in numerous running events later this year and attempting to raise money for a variety of different charities. On Sunday 19th September, ‘Team Eon’ took part in the P.A.U.L For Brain Recovery 10K Charity Fun Run. P.A.U.L for Brain Recovery is a community-based support and guidance service that exists to support anyone affected by brain injury. This local charity aims to improve quality of life after brain injury by offering the practical coping skills and knowledge to help manage daily living, avoid crisis and to rebuild a meaningful life.

For this race, our Director Matt Dass and our Digital Marketing Executive Pete English represented Team Eon, alongside our friends Helena Lamplough and Kristina Dass from Springfield Solutions.

At 9:00am, the team set off from Bilton Village Hall and headed towards Gangstead. The route took the team north towards Swine before looping around back towards Bilton, finishing at Papas Fish & Chip Restaurant. After much perseverance and determination, Matt, Pete, Helena, and Kristina all managed to complete the 10km route in under and hour! – Awesome effort guys!

Next Race: London Marathon!

With the P.A.U.L For Brain Recovery 10K Charity Fun Run competed, our next big race event will see Matt participating in the London Marathon on the 3rd of October! This iconic race will see Matt running through some of London’s iconic landmarks including the Shard, Tower Bridge, Canary Wharf, The Houses of Parliament and Buckingham Palace!

This event will also be very important for Matt as he is currently raising money for Crohn’s & Colitis UK. This charity is incredibly significant for Matt, as his mother recently had to have lifesaving surgery to remove her colon after suffering from crohn’s and colitis for many years. Thankfully, the operation was a success and Matt’s Mum survived. However, this operation has changed her life as she continues to adapt both physically and mentally to her new body. With this, Matt will be running the London Marathon to raise awareness and much needed funds for Crohn’s & Colitis UK.
