It seemed 2021 was a busy year for us as we expanded our design and videography teams. We introduced the incredibly talented Will Marshall who joined as a Designer and Animator – initially on a placement- and the ever brilliant Dawid Poniatowski as a Videographer.
This year, the two of them celebrate 5 years at Eon Visual Media, so we had a little chat!
What’s your favourite work memory?
Will
A lot of my favourite memories have been from new experiences – assisting with video work on location, live drawing at events, learning new softwares and skills, and working on creatively exciting briefs. Also can’t leave out some of the meet ups and Christmas parties we’ve had!
Dawid
Working on a project with Eski. I think visual storytelling is very me but most of all being surrounded by likeminded individuals inspired me and made me even more involved in the story that we were trying to portray – none of which could have been done without the people that worked on these projects. Overall it was a really fun day and didn’t really feel like “work”.
Is there a client project you’re especially proud of?
Will
I think any project where I’ve had to the opportunity to put my 3D skills to the test has been particularly exciting. I decided I wanted to learn Blender just over a year back and I’m enjoying the process.
Dawid
To this day I am particularly proud of the Eski projects. VR storytelling is a different kind of filmmaking so it was a fun challenge but those projects allowed my best side to come out. I love directing in a creative environment with other creatives that also see the vision and feel the emotion. I think those projects turned out very good and had great reception. Being able to work on these projects made me excited and inspired!
Do you have a song(s) that you listen to to help you focus?
Will
If I have to get my head down, I’ll often go to a Spiders themed playlist, anything under that sort of rock umbrella. (For anyone reading that isn’t from Hull, Spiders is an ICONIC nightclub in the city)!
Dawid
My new favourite focus song – Aftermath by Tame Impala.
Will consistently approaches challenges with enthusiasm and a positive attitude. He’s embraced opportunities to learn new skills and expand his expertise, always showing a willingness to step outside of his comfort zone. He’s always the first in line to help out the videography team, whether that’s on camera or behind it! Will’s incredibly creative and has a very bright future ahead of him!
Just getting outside on a lunch time, going for a walk or a run if I need it!

If you could swap jobs with someone in the company for the day, who would it be and why?
Will
I think it would be really cool to switch with the videography team, being able to work outside and film on location. But saying that if it’s raining, forget it haha!
Dawid
I’d maybe swap with Adam (Developer) – I’ve studied Game and Web development back in the day and I’m a bit of a tech and computer nerd so I’ve always found it interesting. It would be fun to try play around with some dev/app creation. Always looking for a new challenge!
