arrow

It’s March, which means it’s time for SXSW 2024! We’re going to take a look at ‘this year’s most transformative and forward-thinking digital projects’, the winners of the Innovation Awards!

AI – Truveta

Truveta have won the AI Innovation Award for their AI-enabled health research and the Truveta Language Model (TLM). The TLM is a large-language AI model transforming electronic health data into clean and accurate data points for health research on patient outcomes with any drug, disease, or device. It is the first model of its kind specifically designed to empower researchers to accurately study patient care and outcomes.

This is a really interesting project and we’re not at all surprised it has won the coveted AI award at SXSW 2024. Being able to simplify health data to more accurately study outcomes of drugs, devices and diseases on patients is a huge step in integrating AI into business and research.

Audio Experience – SPOKE

Spoke, music-led therapy app, won the Innovation Award for Audio Experience. SPOKE helps you ‘sleep deeper, focus better and strengthen your mindset with a unique blend of Lo-fi music and hip hop, blended with mindfulness and other proven mental health tools’.

It’s great to see something like this win an award for innovation, particularly as it centres around mindfulness, meditation and mental wellbeing. Will you be trying out SPOKE?

Health and BioTech – DermaSensor

DermaSensor is a ‘commitment to helping physicians detect skin cancer at the point of care with the first AI-powered medical device for all three common skin cancers’. It’s an FDA approved device and gives physicians immediate and accurate results that improve skin cancer detection through data-driven insights.

These types of technologies can become revolutionary in healthcare environments, with innovators capitalising on technological opportunities to improve health and illness detection.

Best in Show – Dot Pad

Dot Pad gives visually impaired people the ability to access visual content from any source. Dot Pad can convert any input on the connected device into a tactile graphic. It also allows people to travel independently and is installed in public transportation kiosks in Busan, Korea.

This is a truly innovative product that aims to make every day content accessible for more audiences. It’s great to see companies use their creativity and knowledge to innovate products like this, and to see such products winning awards at SXSW 2024!
