We are delighted to welcome our newest team member – Will Marshall!
Will is joining our ever-growing team at Eon Visual Media and will be working with our Creative & Design team!
We sat down with Will to find out more about the newest member of our team!
So Will, tell us a little bit about yourself!
Since graduating from Nottingham Trent University in 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design, I have been working as a freelance illustrator and a Junior Graphic Design Intern gaining as much experience as possible! The places I have interned for so far have been Pace Communications and Yes/No Studio which were both really inspiring, creative businesses! I am very passionate about my work and am excited to be working with Eon’s talented team of designers and animators, making friends, and improving my skills.
What do you like to get up to outside the work place?
I am a very active person, I’m most relaxed when I’m engaging in activities!
I love to draw in my own time, experimenting with a range of different medias and letting my mind flow with ideas. My favorite style of drawing is of course a graphic novel style as reading comics is something that I have done since a young age. I also like to play my guitar, turning the volume up and jamming on my own.
Exercise wise, I love Kick-boxing and Muay Thai and have been training in these martial arts for around 10 years, both at university and in my local area. Due to COVID restrictions of course, this hobby is currently on hold, but I can’t wait to get started again.
Since the first lockdown I discovered a few new hobbies including Skateboarding and Surfing! Surprisingly riding a wooden board whether on water or concrete and falling off a lot can make you feel great mentally if you ever get the lockdown blues.
What three words would you use to describe yourself?
Energetic, imaginative, passionate.
What gets you out of bed in the morning?
My love for coffee and a busy day, always up for a challenge.
What’s the most beautiful place you’ve ever seen?
Cornwall is my favourite! The sunsets specifically are so memorable, I love it there.
What’s the strangest thing in your refrigerator?
Currently Dominoes boxes seem to take up a large part ha!
What’s your favourite pizza topping?
Bolognese Pizza!
When was the last time you laughed so hard you cried?
I recently re-watched Peep Show which never fails to put me in hysterics!
What are you most looking forward to post-lockdown?
Live concerts! And being able to visit friends who live far away.
What is your motto or personal mantra?
Work hard, be kind and always push yourself out of your comfort zone / try something new!
What is on my wish list for over the next three years?
To develop my skills as an animator / graphic designer by working on exciting, captivating briefs. I would like to build my confidence in knowing the ins and outs of 2D animation as well as extending my skills with learning 3D animation which is an area I currently have little experience in.
