Since 2003
Time flies when you’re having fun!
In the year when DVD sales first topped VHS sales, and the first MP3 with Bluetooth was sold, Eon Visual Media officially became a limited business.
Finding Nemo was released in cinemas, Michael Jordan played his last game in the NBA and Lionel Messi made his debut for FC Barcelona aged 16.
2003 seems an age away, and it is really…a whole 20 years! So much has changed…DVDs have been wiped out by streaming services, MP3s have been obliterated by smart phones and Lionel Messi is seemingly on the verge of retirement. But there’s one thing that hasn’t changed, and that’s the dedication of the team at Eon Visual Media.
Over the course of 20 years, Eon has become a business at the forefront of digital innovation, content creation and sustainability in the Hull region. We hope you join us on our journey as we explore the next 20 years and more.
Case Studies

In the days before streaming services became popular, it was relatively unheard of for online streaming, particularly within sports. Eon Visual Media approached Hull KR with an idea, to transform the video content and turn it into an engaging platform…
During the 1990’s and early 2000’s, CD-ROMs were popularly used to distribute software and data, before being replaced by DVDs. CD-ROMs are read-only discs, meaning computers could only read the data and could not write or replace. Lots of companies used CD-ROMs for video content, including Eon Visual Media. Read ahead to hear about some…
Back in 2003, Eon Visual Media became an independent limited company. DVDs outsold VHS tapes for the first time and technology was at a turning point. Not long after, in 2005, 1 billion people were using the internet which was 1/5 of the population at the time! This pivotal time period saw digital innovation rise,…

Digital Murder Mystery
26th March 2019Our first event was ‘A Digital Murder Mystery’ with guests encouraged to uncover whodunnit through various clues planted around the office. Each clue was digital and incorporated the innovative technology we work with, whether that be augmented reality, virtual reality, holograms, drones or 360° video. The event was interactive and a great way to have a play with some of our tech as well as an opportunity to network with businesses and industry leaders.
