Shooting a Game of Thrones Spoof for TransPennine Express
We shot and directed a social media campaign for TransPennine Express, starring ‘Game of Thrones’ actor Kristian Nairn, who plays the iconic and well-loved character Hodor. The rail company wanted a short promotional video to show off their latest project – the ‘Exstream’ service. With the service, passengers are given complimentary access to a host of Hollywood blockbusters, smash-hit TV shows, box sets and more – including ‘Game of Thrones’.
We Stuck to Strict Time Schedules
One particular challenge for this project was that we had to film in busy Glasgow Station at rush hour – with real-time train schedules. This meant we were left with little more than 30 minutes to get the required shots. Planning on this project was therefore crucial to ensure we captured all of the necessary shots in the little time we had.
Our work covered the project from start to finish, from storyboarding to directing, filming & editing the video before it was posted out as part of a social media campaign. The video was picked up by global online news sites and national media outlets, including the Belfast Telegraph, Glasgow Live and msn.com – who have 23 million unique monthly users.
