A few weeks ago, we announced on Global Running Day that some of our staff at Eon Visual Media would be participating in numerous running events later this year and attempting to raise money for a variety of different charities. On Friday 25th of June, ‘Team Eon’ kicked off their first race, and took part in the Burton Constable Trail 10km. This race took place at the spectacular grounds of Burton Constable Hall in East Yorkshire and allowed participants to run through the picturesque surroundings of the estate across a variety of different outdoor terrains.
For this race, our Head of Eon James Cherry and our Digital Marketing Executive Pete English represented Team Eon, and both aimed set their own personal best times for outdoor trail running!
At 7:30pm, James and Pete set off from the starting line at the front of Burton Constable Hall and began to take on the 10km route. The outdoor trail route took the guys across the grounds of Burton Constable Hall, through the outdoor stable buildings, and around an old nearby airfield. The guys even had to avoid many livestock obstacles along the way including swans, cows and sheep! However, after much perseverance and determination, Pete and James managed to complete the 10km route in under and hour! – Awesome effort guys!
With The Burton Constable Hall Trail 10km complete, Pete, James and our Director Matt Dass have many more races later this year to prepare for including the London Marathon, Trail Pursuit Brecon Beacons, and the Tokyo Marathon!
