As the digital world continues to evolve, businesses are constantly developing new ways of engaging with their audiences and generating leads using digital content.
According to The New York Times, we’re entering a “post-text world” with photos, video & graphics commandeering our online experience as a consumer. In response to this, businesses are adopting a video marketing strategy in order to raise brand awareness, showcase their products and encourage a loyal customer following.
Is it any wonder that companies are pouring money into developing multimedia for their brand, with 53% of consumers stating that they engage with a brand after viewing a video on social media.
With nothing able to grab your attention more than a powerful video, we want to run through the top 5 most engaging types of video content:
1. Vlogs
Instead of blogging, why not try vlogging? Vlogs are cheap to produce, fun and have a high engagement rate.
Instead of trying to devise costly ideas for brand new content for your business, simply document your processes via a vlog as a way of showcasing your brand, product and services.
2. Animated Videos
Animated videos are a great example of visual storytelling, delivering a fresh and engaging way of showcasing a brands product or service.
You can create how to videos, explainer videos and brand video’s, whilst keeping the audience engaged with clever graphics and interesting characters.
An animation we created for our sister company Springfield Solutions, was for the release of a new product offering (below).
3. 360/VR
With 360 videos and virtual reality, viewers are able to place themselves into the centre of any room or location, fully immersing themselves in experiences that otherwise couldn’t be accessed, such as coming face to face with a Shark or climbing Mount Everest.
360 and virtual reality is usually experienced through a VR headset such as an Oculus Go or Google Cardboard.
ASDA wanted us to create a 360° virtual tour of the store, that would reveal the new sushi counter, takeaway pizza counters, revamped George department, equipped with digital modelling screens, and a modernised cafe area that operates like a restaurant
4. Live Streaming Videos
Live-stream videos are becoming more and more popular. Through channels like Facebook Live, Twitch and Periscope, businesses are able to broadcast live to their audience whenever they want. Live streaming has the same effect as breaking news, with people not wanting to miss out.
5. Brand Video’s
The goal of a brand video is to raise awareness around your brand, therefore increasing your pool of customers. They usually centre around the culture of your brand, the mission, vision and the products or services offered.
Last year’s John Lewis’ Christmas video shows the power of song and star power, and proved to be one of the best brand videos to cap off the year.
Videos can play a valuable role in your marketing funnel, turning potential customers into leads. The proof is in the pudding with 83% of marketers stating that video gives them a good ROI.
