The Dominance of Video Marketing

arrow

The days of traditional marketing are long gone, taken over by new and improved forms of digital content. Businesses are now looking for ways to connect with their audience in a more visually engaging way, establishing relationships relating to brand loyalty and encouraging their audience to embark on the purchasing journey.

If you were to ask Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook, he’d tell you that video is the future. With shorter attention spans than ever, it’s no wonder that video is the preferred marketing medium for consumers, with currently over 1,000,000,000 mobile video views on Youtube per day.

The proof is in the pudding and according to a report published by the Aberdeen Group, people are sharing videos more than any other medium, telling us that consumers have officially been won over by the power of video. Businesses have jumped at this chance to increase their brand visibility amongst consumers and a report conducted by Wyzowl revealed that 81% of businesses used video as a marketing tool in 2018.

The dominance of YouTube as the go-to video sharing platform is now being challenged by companies like Facebook, Instagram and Amazon and in 2014 Facebook launched its autoplay video ads feature.  Social media news feeds like Facebook are now being dominated largely by video content, with businesses fighting to gain a brand following with eye catching content that showcases the value of their product or service in an engaging way.

With the introduction of 360° video, drone footage and virtual reality, video content is upping its game in the fight with other marketing mediums. Whether you’re a large scale business or a one man band, video, teamed with the power of social media, enables you to connect with your potential customers on a larger scale than ever before.
